Excessively Slender Models Not Allowed in Fashion Show

Last year, the news sort of turned its attention to the fashion bunch, not because of the up-and-coming designers and the glamorous collections, but because of the deaths in the business. Yes, there were two models, Latin American or Brazilian I suppose, who suffered and died of eating disorders (I suppose anorexia was the culprit at the time). Both models were tagged as 'too skinny' and thus, their deaths have become definitely talked-about, especially in circles condemning the unhealthy lifestyle and eating habits of girls and generally, those in the bunch.

On the other hand, both death incidents really have made a 'positive' impact on most parts of the fashion bunch. For instance, in a fashion show in Spain last September, excessively slender models were not allowed to participate. If the gals were not able to reach the limit or BMI standard, they were not admitted to strut their stuff on the catwalk and at that time, about thirty percent failed!

Does this mean to say that some Spanish models were definitely starving themselves for that image most teenage girls would want to have? Well, critics have also blamed another earlier fashion demonstration that featured 'bone-thin' gals, so I guess that Spain's fashion event last year was already an improvement from its previous counterparts.
